2023 Year in Review
Dr. Jonathan Lai, Executive Director of Autism Alliance of Canada, shared an overview of the development of Autism Alliance of Canada’s various initiatives, projects and accomplishments over the last year.
Guest presentation: Siyu (Suzanna) Chen – “Empowering autistic young people in self-advocacy: The what, why, and how”
Siyu (Suzanna) Chen, the recipient of the Third Annual Jim and Ginette Munson Autism Leadership Award, was the guest presenter of our 2024 Annual General Meeting.
Siyu (Suzanna) Chen is an Autistic person who is passionate about disability equality and youth leadership. Her activism involves everything from performing in a fundraising concert for a local autism non-profit in Greater Vancouver, exhibiting photographs at a neurodivergent creativity conference, writing articles about disabled students for her university, and representing disability-inclusive Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) campaigns by international charities during United Nations events.
