Canadian Autism Leadership Summit Research Sessions – Research Lightning Round Presentations!

  1. Canadian Autism Leadership Summit
  2. 11th Annual Canadian Autism Leadership Summit

Are you a new or early-career researcher in the autism field in Canada? This is your chance to showcase your work, connect with research leaders, and inspire change!

We are excited to invite submissions for our first ever Research Lightning Round Presentations at the 11th Annual Canadian Autism Leadership Summit (CALS2025). This fast-paced session is designed to spotlight emerging researchers and provide a platform for sharing innovative ideas that have the potential to drive real-world impact!

What is a Lightning Round?

As a presenter you will have 3 minutes and 1 slide to deliver a concise, engaging presentation about your research. Whether you are exploring groundbreaking interventions, policy innovations, or community-based initiatives, this is your opportunity to share your work with the broader autism community across Canada.

Why Participate?

  • Expand your reach: reach a diverse audience eager to learn about the latest research in autism screening, diagnosis, service inclusion, economic empowerment, data innovation, public awareness, and more!
  • Build connections: engage directly with experts and the Alliance Community to discuss your ideas and explore future collaborations!

Who Should Apply?

We encourage submissions from graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career researchers working in any area of autism research, including but not limited to the priority areas of Canada’s Autism Strategy:

  • Screening, Diagnosis, and Services
  • Economic Inclusion and Workplace Accessibility
  • Data Collection, Public Health Surveillance, and Research
  • Public Awareness, Understanding, and Acceptance
  • Tools, Resources, and Technologies for Autistic Individuals, Families, and Caregivers

Submission Guidelines

Please submit a 300-word abstract outlining the background, objectives, methods, results, and impact of your research. Emphasize how your work contributes to the broader landscape of autism research, practice, or policy in Canada. Submissions will be evaluated on relevance and potential impact to improve the lives of autistic people and their families and catalyze system change.

Please note, if you submitted an abstract for the Academic Poster Showcase, you may also use this abstract for the Lightning Rounds Presentation. The Lightning Rounds Presentation requires a separate submission, however.

  • Deadline to submit your proposal: February 17th, 2025
  • Notification of decision: March 10th, 2025

Join us!

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to amplify your research and contribute to shaping a brighter future for autistic individuals and their families in Canada. We look forward to your submission!
