Celebrating the collective Francophone voice in autism communities across Canada!
Autism Alliance of Canada is pleased to announce its second annual celebration of Semaine de la francophonie (Francophonie Week).
From March 23 to 27, 2026, follow Autism Alliance of Canada on social media @AllianceAutism as we highlight and celebrate Francophone Town Hall participants within autism communities across the country. Semaine de la francophonie is part of a global celebration of Francophone culture that takes place throughout the month of March.
Our goal is to amplify the collective Francophone and Francophile voices while strengthening capacity and connection in bilingual Autism communities across Canada.
Throughout the week, Francophone and Francophile changemakers from across Canada who participated in the Alliance’s recent Francophone Town Halls will share short video messages. Each video will highlight their lived experiences on how one of the five priorities in Canada’s Autism Strategy connects to the unique realities in their provincial region.
Stay tuned to hear from:
- March 23: Thérèse Djob – CEO & Owner, FrenchEtVoila Tutoring Centre (Edmonton, Alberta)
- March 24: Liette Lanteigne – Executive Director, Autisme Péninsule Acadienne (Caraquet, New Brunswick)
*Videos will be presented in French with English subtitles to ensure an inclusive experience for all audiences.

The Alliance launched a series of online and in-person Francophone Town Halls across Canada to bring together and unite the collective voices of the Francophone autism community. Online town halls create a virtual space where participants can share, in French, resources available in Canada. In-person town halls inspire in-depth round table discussions where participants exchange ideas on the five priority areas of Canada’s Autism Strategy in addition to identifying and examining priorities that are unique to their region.
Recent in-person town halls were held in Moncton (New Brunswick), Sudbury (Ontario), Edmonton (Alberta) and Winnipeg (Manitoba). Participants networked to discover diverse perspectives and solutions to strengthen capacity in Francophone autism communities. The next town halls are online on May 7 and in-person in Trois-Rivières, Quebec on June 5.
