A message from Autism Alliance of Canada
World Autism Month is a moment to recognize the leadership of Autistic people across Canada and to focus on what comes next.
Across the country, there is growing momentum to strengthen autism policy, improve access to services, and build more coordinated systems of support. This progress is being shaped by Autistic people, families, researchers, and system leaders working together to drive meaningful change.
At Autism Alliance of Canada, this work is grounded in partnership. It is not done for the community. It is done with and led by autistic people and families. Their leadership shapes our priorities, informs our approach, and strengthens the impact of our work at every level, including through our Board and national advisory groups.
Our members are advancing progress across provinces and territories in policy, research, and service delivery. This work reflects a shared commitment to building systems that are equitable, evidence-informed, and responsive to the needs of Autistic people and their families.
Canada now has a National Autism Strategy. The focus ahead is implementation, and ensuring that commitments translate into real change in people’s lives.
This month, we will highlight this work and the people driving it forward. World Autism Month is not only a time to reflect, but an opportunity to accelerate change together.
