Background
Currently, there is a lack of systematic evidence supporting decision-making in the autism sector, specifically in the areas of early intervention, community measurement tools, models of care, cost-effectiveness and systems knowledge.
To help fill gaps, Autism Alliance of Canada and the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) Evidence Alliance have partnered to develop high quality and methodologically rigorous, community-driven knowledge synthesis products. Leveraging the networks and national infrastructure of our two alliances will enhance the evidence base used for autism policy development and system decision making.
Project Description
The Autism Knowledge Synthesis Initiative aims to:
- Increase the number of up-to-date knowledge products and tools that are tailored to the needs and priorities of the community and that respond to the needs of decision makers.
- Produce up-to-date knowledge products and tools to support the development and implementation of a National Autism Strategy and autism policy in Canada.
- Increase the inclusion of Autistic persons and their families/support persons in rapid review, systematic reviews and meta-analyses used to guide decision making in Canada.
