The Myth Busters Project: An Employment Equity Project

Autism Alliance of Canada is proud to collaborate with the Youth Alliance for Intersectional Justice (YAIJ) on the Myth Busters Project, developed in partnership with the Inclusive Design for Employment Access (IDEA/VRAIE) Social Innovation Laboratory, with funding from the Government of Canada’s New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF) Transformation Stream.

This project explores the experiences, challenges, and needs of neurodiverse people in the workplace. By debunking common myths and sharing the perspectives of Black and racialized youth, Myth Busters seeks to improve inclusive employment practices and increase awareness about neurodiversity in the working world.

Employment is a focus of the Economic Inclusion (Priority Area #2)  of Canada’s Autism Strategy. Through initiatives like this, we are supporting evidence-informed solutions that reflect the realities of diverse communities and promote equity in workplaces across the country.

By amplifying youth voices and challenging misconceptions, the Myth Busters Project contributes to a more inclusive dialogue on employment and helps create opportunities where everyone can thrive.
