Over the past few years, Autism Alliance of Canada’s primary mission has been to help bring Canada’s first Autism Strategy to life. Released in September 2024, this Strategy marks a crucial milestone for our community.
Autism Alliance of Canada, in partnership with The Sinneave Family Foundation, is proud to power the new National Autism Network (the Network). While the Network and the Alliance are distinct, their work is closely connected and complementary.
The Network is a new, independent organization, funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. The Network’s role is to bring together Autistic people, families, subject matter experts, and community partners to inform the federal government on how to carry out Canada’s Autism Strategy.
We continue to lead thought leadership and drive systemic change that extends beyond the Network’s scope and mandate. Through this initiative, the Alliance takes on the leadership role of convening and supporting working groups known as Strategic Priority Committees, while also mobilizing the knowledge generated by these groups.
With this partnership, we will continue to inform policy with evidence and best practices – strengthening the autism sector through collaboration, shared leadership, and a commitment to change.
Please note that you can be a member of both the Network and the Alliance.
