Working with other organizations within the Canadian disability community

Autism Alliance of Canada is part of a pan-Canadian disability community and works with other disability organizations towards shared priorities impacting the lives of people with disabilities in Canada.

These are some of our recent collaborations:

Bill C-22, the Canada Disability Benefit Act

On June 22, 2023, Bill C-22, the Canada Disability Benefit Act, received Royal Assent. On behalf of the thousands of people with disabilities who provided their stories, perspectives, and lived experiences during the legislative process, Autism Alliance of Canada and collaborating disability organizations acknowledge this milestone that has been accomplished.

All Parties Candidates Debate on Disability Issues

On September 7, 2021, the pan-Canadian disability community organized an all-parties’ candidates’ debate on disability issues. The debate gave the major political parties the opportunity to share their vision and platform for the nearly 6.2 million Canadians with disabilities.

National Disability Network | Collective Impact Project

The Pan-Canadian Disability Coalition Collective Impact Project is a team of more than 30 Canadian disability groups, including the Alliance. The goal of this group is to make sure that Canadian policies, services, and programs for disability use a disability/accessibility point of view from start to finish.
